Trends of 2021

As 2020 has passed, we’ve gotten used to being at home. We can only do so much for our homes to create a perfect environment for our comfort. A new year means new trends; this year, the trends are bright colors, easy transitions from indoor to outdoor, beautiful solutions to outdoor furniture, and smart technology.

As we look forward to another year of at-home outdoor entertainment, naturally to mellow out the mood and add to our private scenic views, calm colors are a must this year. This year’s colors range from cool to warm, but they are all earth tones. The most attractive hue being a cooler blue.

Transitions

Seamless transitions between indoors and outdoors are the biggest trend of 2021. To achieve this look you’ll want to have furniture and decor that is consistent between the two rooms and arranged as if it was all one room. The installation of large glass windows or doors will make it easier to have a natural flow throughout. Adding heating lamps, outdoor lamps, and automated drop-down screens can make your space that much more gratifying.

Outdoor Furnishings

The outdoor furniture you select is crucial simply because it is the focal point of the two distinct rooms. With that being said, the arrangement of the furniture and what style you choose will set the entire mood. This year’s craze surrounding outdoor furniture are daybeds, sofas, and firepits. Daybeds are an ideal place to read or nap outside in the crisp air. This is also a great idea for those who would love to have that seamless transition between indoors and outdoors as well.

Smart House

Automation won’t be going anywhere, anytime soon. Most people have automated the interior of their homes with air conditioning that connects to an app on their phone or using a Google Hub device to tell them what the weather is like for the day. The same can be said for the outside whether it be automated roller shades, an electric fire pit, or security cameras to keep an eye on your belongings.

This year, people are going for WiFi, easily accessible wall outlets, and of course, heating and lighting in their exterior lounge area.
