It’s Fall! OK, it doesn’t really feel like fall in the southern states, but that doesn’t mean we can’t start celebrating. Below are our 7 favorite fall decorating tips to get you into the season.
- Fall Mums and Flowers. It might be coming to the end of the fun summer flower season, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still have ample amounts of color. Garden mums come in a variety of colors including white, yellow, pink, lavender, red and bronze.
- New planters for the patio. What better way to spruce up your patio than to move your favorite plants into more fall-friendly planters? Bronze, wood and warm textured planters will create a relaxing environment, keeping you and your guests on the patio. Photo credit: Plow and Hearth
- Pumpkins, gourds, and more! Decorating with pumpkins and gourds never has to look the same twice! Experiment with different shapes and colors, or even add in some dried corn!
- Fall candles and delightful scents. It may still be to warm for a fire, but its always just right for candles. Try out different shapes, colors, and bases to create a new look in your home. Don’t forget to pick out your favorite smell! Vanilla to simulate fresh cookies, and pumpkin spice to make you dream of pumpkin pie!
- A cozy throw blanket or pillow. Naturally, we reach for the plaids and tradition fall colors (reds, yellows, and oranges) when September comes around. But why not try something different? This beautiful and delightfully soft dark brown and off white blanket gives this leather couch a warm and inviting feel. Almost as if it were a crisp fall day inviting you to snuggle up on the sofa with a good book.
- Rugs to revamp your floors. Change the mood of the space from light and airy to warm and cozy with just the swap of your rug. Find a rug that has warm colors and of course, is plush and pleasant to walk on. You’ll be thankful for the insulation between your toes and the cool floor.
- The traditional fall porch. Bringing it all together, how could we not recommend a traditional fall porch covered with mums in unique planters with pumpkins, and gourds to bring color and texture to the space. But make it your own! Add your favorite gas lantern or some muslin to billow invitingly in the wind.
